    1. U-2950-98-1 Use Permit Request for an institutional home to provide assisted living for elderly priests; on premises known as 4675 25th Street North.

      P.C. Recommendation: Approve, subject to the conditions of the staff report with a review in one (1) year following issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy.

      C.M. Recommendation: Approve, subject to the conditions of the staff report with a review in one (1) year following issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy.

  1. SP #121 Review of a Site Plan Amendment for operation of a temporary surface parking lot; on premises known as 2765 and part of 2767 Jefferson Davis Highway (Kingdon Gould III).

    C.M. Recommendation: Continue, subject to all previous conditions, and with a review in three (3) years. (January 2002)

     

  2. SP #145 Review of a Site Plan Amendment permitting a 162 car or 30 bus space expansion of an existing temporary parking lot; on premises known as 2600 block Jefferson Davis Highway. (adj. to Hyatt Hotel)

    C.M. Recommendation: Continue, subject to all previous conditions, one (1) new condition and with a review in six (6) months (July 1999).

    1. Small Parks Grant.

      C.M. Recommendation: Approve funds from previously appropriated County Small Parks Program funds for nine projects as recommended by the Park and Recreation Commission.

  1. Transportation Enhancement Grant Application.

    C.M. Recommendation: Authorize the applications to Virginia Department of Transportation for Fiscal Year 2000 Federal Transportation Enhancement funding for the Rosslyn Circle Crossing, Arlington Entryways, Fort C.F. Smith Park, and Wilson Boulevard Pedestrian Improvements projects and adopt the resolution regarding Arlington County's applications for Enhancement grant applications.

 

  1. Amendment to Chapter 43 of the Arlington County Code, Real Estate Tax Relief for the Elderly.

C.M. Recommendation: Adopt retroactive to September 30, 1998, an ordinance changing Chapter 43 of the Arlington County Code, Real Estate Tax Relief for the Elderly, authorizing the County Manger to extend the deadline for filing an affidavit from October 1 until January 31, of the following calendar year.

 

  1. Master Plan for the New Community Park at 6008, 6016, and 6022 Wilson Boulevard.

    P.C. Recommendation: Approve the general location and approximate size of the park elements.

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve the general location and approximate size of the park located at 6008, 6016 and 6022 Wilson Boulevard.

 

  1. Use Permit

     

    1. U-2949-98-2 Use Permit (Carry-Over): Request for a Use Permit to permit two (2) ATM drive-through facilities associated with the commercial use of a bank; on premises known as 3532 Columbia Pike.

      P.C. Recommendation: Approve the Use Permit subject to the conditions of the staff report with a review in one (1) year, with access and a properly centered door located on Columbia Pike. (January 2000).

      C.M. Recommendation: Approve the Use Permit subject to the conditions of the staff report with a review in one (1) year. (January 2000).

       

 

  1. Rezoning and Site Plan Amendment on premises known as 1020, 1034 and 1040 North Quincy Street and 4012 11th Street North (Library Court).

 

  1. Z-2440-97-3 Rezoning: (Carry-Over & Amended): Request for a change in land classification. The property currently is zoned "RA7-16", Apartment Dwelling Districts, and "R-5", One-Family, Restricted two-family Dwelling Districts; on premises known as a portion of 1020 North Quincy Street.

    P.C. Recommendation: Rezone 1034 North Quincy Street from "R-5" to "R-A7-16".

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve the first proposed rezoning option as recommended in the staff report.

     

  2. SP #32 Site Plan Amendment (Carry-Over & Amended): Request for a special exception to permit construction of a 84 unit, 6 story residential bldg. & assoc. parking; on premises known as 1020, 1034, 1040 North Quincy Street & 4012 North 11th Street.

    P.C. Recommendation: Defer the Site Plan Amendment indefinitely.

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve the site plan amendment, subject to the conditions in the staff report.

 

  1. Z-2452-98-1 Rezoning: Request to rezone a Part of the Original Lot 3, of the Gertrude E. Malcolm Property, in order to remove the Historic Preservation Zoning designation.

    P.C. Recommendation: Deny.

    C.M. Recommendation: Deny.

     

  2. Use Permit Amendment

    A. U-26-45-1 Use Permit Amendment (Carry-Over): Request for a Use Permit Amendment to increase the enrollment at St. Agnes School; premises known as 2024 North Randolph Street.

    C.M. Recommendation:

 

  1. Site Plan Amendments and Vacation of Easement for premises known as 3801 and 3803 North Fairfax Drive.

     

    1. SP #196 Site Plan Amendment Carry-Over): Request for a special exception to permit an addition of approximately 43,045 square feet of office space to the existing office building, & associated parking & modification of use regulations for parking, density, calculation of GFA & coverage requirements; on premises known as 3801 & 3803 North Fairfax Drive.

      P.C. Recommendation: Approve the Site Plan Amendment as recommended in the staff report.

      C.M. Recommendation: Approve the Site Plan Amendments subject to the conditions of the staff report which shall supercede all previous conditions of approval for the portions of Site Plan #196 covered by this major site plan amendment.

       

    2. SP #196 Site Plan Amendment (Carry-Over): Request for a special exception to permit an office building of approximately 159,285 square feet & assoc. parking, & modification of use regulations for parking, calculation of GFA & coverage requirements; on premises known as Virginia Square Lot 1-A, North Fairfax Drive.

      P.C. Recommendation: Approve the Site Plan Amendment as recommended in the staff report.

      C.M. Recommendation: Approve the Site Plan Amendments subject to the conditions of the staff report which shall supercede all previous conditions of approval for the portions of Site Plan #196 covered by this major site plan amendment.

    3. Vacation of Various Easements on Lot 1-A, Virginia Square

      C.M. Recommendation: Approve as recommended in the staff report.

       

 

  1. General Land Use Plan, Rezoning, Consideration of Location for existing Fire Station #6 and Request to Advertise a Change in land Classification for the premises known as 6929 North Lee Highway and 6950 North Little Falls Road.

     

    1. GP-260-98-1 General Land Use Plan (GLUP) Amendment from "Low" Office-Apartment-Hotel to "Public". Parkways for the premises known as 6929 North Lee Highway and 6950 North Little Falls Road.

      P.C. Recommendation: Approve the GLUP Amendment for 6050 North Little Falls Road and Take No Action on the GLUP Amendment for 6929 North Lee Highway.

      C.M. Recommendation: Approve a General Land Use Plan Amendment from "Low" Office-Apartment-Hotel to "Public". Schools. Parkways, major unpaved rights-of-way.

       

    2. Z-2451-98-1: Rezoning: On the County Board’s Own Motion, at the request of the City of Falls Church, for a change in land classification from "M-1" to "S-3A", (Special District); premises known as 6929 North Lee Highway and 6950 Little Falls Road.

      P.C. Recommendation: Defer the Rezoning Request to the May 22, 1999 County Board meeting.

      C.M. Recommendation: Defer a change in land classification from "M-1", Light Industrial Districts, and "C-M" Limited Industrial Districts, to "S-3A", Special Districts.

       

    3. Consideration of the location, character, and extent of a proposed fire station with related meeting space and parking, to replace the existing Fire Station #6, premises known as 6929 North Lee Highway and 6950 North Little Falls Road.

      P.C. Recommendation: The general location and appropriate location, character and extent of the proposed Fire Station #6 is substantially in accord with the Arlington Comprehensive Plan.

      C.M. Recommendation: Determine that conditions recommended in the staff report are substantially in accord with Arlington's Comprehensive Plan.

       

    4. "On the County Board's Own Motion", Request to advertise a change in land classification from "M-1", Light Industrial Districts, and "C-M' Limited Industrial Districts to "C-O-1.5" Commercial Office Building, Hotel and Apartment Districts, for the premises known as 6929 North Lee Highway, for a public hearing at the May 22, 1999 County Board Meeting.

      C.M. Recommendation: Authorize advertising a change in land Classification for a public hearing at the May 22, 1999 County Board meeting.

Board meetings are cablecast live on government access Cable-TV Channel 31, with repeats shown the following week at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (morning session only) and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (afternoon session only), and the following Monday at 10:30 a.m. Carryover meetings will be repeated the following Monday at 7:00 p.m. If a live carryover meeting conflicts with any of the scheduled repeats, the tape will air immediately following the live meeting.
