  2. U-2838-95-1 Review of a Use Permit to permit a private school including a yoga studio offering yoga and movement classes for adults and children; on premises known as 2107 North Pollard Street (Sun and Moon Studio).

    C.M. Recommendation: Continue, subject to all previous conditions, and with a review in five (5) years. (May 2004)

  3. U-2837-95-6 Review of a Use Permit to permit operation of a full-day kindergarten [amended to delete the full-day kindergarten program]; on premises known as 3422 13 th Street North. (The YMCA of Metropolitan Washington)

    C.M. Recommendation: Continue, subject to all previous conditions, amended to delete the full-day kindergarten, program and with a review in five (5) years. (May 2004)

  4. U-2852-95-1 Review of a Use Permit to permit operation of an outdoor skating area; on premises known as 2704 Columbia Pike (Ski Chalet).

C.M. Recommendation: Continue, subject to all previous conditions, and with a review in five (5) years. (May 2004)

  1. Approve Amendment of a Contract to Provide Design Services for Fairlington Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project.

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve as recommended in the staff report.

  2. Approve Amendment of Contract for Engineering Services Concerning Pedestrian Tunnels.

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve as recommended in the staff report.

  3. Approval of an Amendment to Contract for construction of curb, gutter, sidewalk and storm drainage improvements along 16 th Street North, North Lexington Street and Patrick Henry Drive.

C.M. Recommendation: Approve an amendment to the contract with Granja Contracting, Inc. for change orders and increased quantities and delegate to the Purchasing Agent the authority to sign the contract amendment documents, subject to legal review by the County Attorney.

  1. Ratify the Grant Application - Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services Functional Family Therapy Program.

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve as recommended in the staff report.

  2. Adopt Extended Day and Middle School Check-in Programs Fee Schedules for FY 2000.

    C.M. Recommendation: Adopt the FY 2000 School Board recommended fee schedule for the Extended Day and Check-in Programs, which have been reviewed and recommended by the Extended Day Citizens Committee and adopted by the School Board.

  3. Approve the FY 2000 Agreement between the Animal Welfare League Arlington and Arlington County.

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve the amendment to the agreement between Arlington County and the Animal Welfare League of Arlington for animal control and related services for FY 2000, amendment subject to County Attorney review.

  4. Approve a Lease for Storage Space at Courthouse Plaza/G-1 Level.

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve the Lease Agreement between Courthouse Plaza Associates Limited Partnership and the The County Board of Arlington County, Virginia and authorize the Real Estate Coordinator to sign the lease Agreement, provided the first is approved as to form by the County Attorney.

  5. Approve an Award for a Contract to Design the-Old Dominion Drive Pedestrian, Bicyclist and Storm Drainage Improvements Project.

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve as recommended in the staff report.

  6. Consideration of an Allocation of Fiscal Year (FY) 2000 Affordable Housing Investment Fund (AHIF) for use as a grant to The Friends of Clarendon House, Inc. for the "Consumer-Staffed Housing Outreach" Program.

    C.M. Recommendation: Allocate funds from the FY 2000 AHIF for use as a grant to The Friends of Clarendon House, Inc.

  7. Acceptance of Certain Deeds of Easement for Six Public Improvement Projects.

C.M. Recommendation: Approve as recommended in the staff report.

C.M. Recommendation: Approve as recommended in the staff report.

  1. Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk

C.M. Recommendation: Adopt the Resolution authorizing Preliminary Curb and Gutter Assessment Project #491 and authorizing that a Neighborhood Conservation Project be established at a 50% local improvement assessment rate.

  1. Appropriation of revenue from Federal and State Seized Assets Revenue and Abandonment Property to the Police Department.

    C.M. Recommendation: Appropriate funds from federal and state seized/forfeited assets, and abandoned property revenue accounts to the Police Department for the purchase of equipment to be used for law enforcement purposes.

  2. Appropriation of Foster Care/Adoption Funds.

C.M. Recommendation: Appropriate in FY 2000 funds from the Virginia Department of Social Services to the Department of Human Services for the foster care/adoption program and authorize 1.5 FTE permanent positions in the Department of Human Services.

 

C.M. Recommendation: Appropriate funds from Federal revenue to the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Resources.

  1. Request to Advertise an Amendment of Arlington County Code Section 27-21 concerning collection agency and attorney's fees to conform with changes in state law; to amend Arlington County Code Section 27-7 concerning fees for dishonored checks in accordance with a change in state law; to amend Arlington County; and to add Section 1-7.1 to the Arlington County Code to authorize County Departments to charge a late payment penalty and to transfer delinquent accounts to the county treasurer for collection.

    C.M. Recommendation: Advertise for a public hearing on June 12, 1999 on amendments to Chapters 1 and 27 of the Arlington County Code.

  2. Request to Advertise Zoning Ordinance amendments to Section 31. Special Provisions, Subsection B.2.b, to amend the maximum permitted height of amateur radio antennas to no more than 75 feet above ground level.

P.C. Recommendation: Defer action on the Zoning Ordinance amendments as recommended in the staff report.

C.M. Recommendation: Take no action on the previously advertised amendments to Section 31. of the Arlington County Zoning Ordinance and approve advertisement as recommended in the staff report.

  1. Approve an affiliation agreement between Arlington County and George Washington University.

    C.M. Recommendation: Authorize the County Manager to execute the proposed affiliation agreement with George Washington University.

  1. Concurrence with the Inducement Resolution approved by the Alexandria IDA and approval of the issuance of bonds by Alexandria IDA for the benefits of the Goodwill Industries.

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve the resolution, through which Arlington County concurs with the Inducement Resolution approved by Alexandria IDA and approves the issuance of the bonds by the Alexandria IDA for the benefit of Goodwill Industries.

  2. Concurrence with the Inducement Resolution approved by the Alexandria IDA and approval of the issuance of bonds by Alexandria IDA for the benefit of the Greater Washington Educational Telecommunication Association, Inc. (WETA).

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve the resolution, through which Arlington County concurs with the Inducement Resolution approved by Alexandria IDA and approves the issuance of the bonds by the Alexandria IDA for the benefit of WETA.

  3. Authorize the Sale of General Obligation Public Improvement Bonds.

C.M. Recommendation: Adopt by roll call vote, the resolution authorizing the sale of General Obligation Public Improvement bonds.

  1. Adoption of Equipment Financing Resolution.

    C.M. Recommendation: Adopt the Reimbursement Resolution declaring the County's equipment financing intentions.

  2. Adoption of an Amendment to the Utilities Ordinance Related to Pretreatment.

    C.M. Recommendation: Adopt an amendment to Chapter 26 of the Arlington County Code, which eliminates the Impacting User fee.

  3. Approve a Lease Agreement between Arlington County and the Arlington Arts Center for premises known as 3550 Wilson Boulevard (Arlington Arts Center).

    C.M. Recommendation: Approve the Lease Agreement between The Arlington Arts Center, Inc. and the County Board of Arlington County, Virginia, for 3550 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia.

  4. Approve an Agreement between Arlington County and the Arlington County Crime Solvers, Inc.

    C.M. Recommendation: Authorize the County Manager or his designee to enter into a written agreement with Arlington County Crime Solvers, Inc. to the extent provided for in Virginia State Code Section 8.01-226.3.

  5. Authorize Submissions for Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Highway Safety Project Grants.

    C.M. Recommendation: Authorize the County Manager to submit four (4) DMV Highway Safety Project Grant applications, accept the funding if so awarded, to be used for certain Police Department highway safety programs, contingent upon the approval of additional state funds, appropriate funds in revenue and like expenditures to the Police Departments' expenditure budget in FY 2000.

  6. Authorization of an Amendment to the Contract for Design Services for Lee Center.

    C.M. Recommendation:

  7. U-2795-93-1 Use Permit Amendment: Request to amend the approved Use Permit to permit live entertainment and customer dancing; on premises known as 946 North Jackson Street.

C.M. Recommendation: Deny the use permit amendment request. Continue the use permit, with an administrative review in three (3) months.

  1. U-2924-97-2 Review of a Use Permit to permit the operation of a food delivery service; on premises known as 2440 Wilson Boulevard. (Papa John’s).

    C.M. Recommendation:

  2. Matters concerning premises known as 6929 North Lee Highway and 6950 North Little Falls Road.
  1. Z-2451-99-1 Rezoning: Request of the Arlington County Board, for a change in land classification from "M-1" Light Industrial District and "CM" Limited Industrial District to "C-0-1.5" Commercial Office Building, Hotel and Apartment District and "S-3A" Special District; on premises known as 6929 North Lee Highway and 6950 North Little Falls Road.

  1. Vacation of Sanitary Sewer Easements on Part Lot 2, Block D, Isaac Crossman Estate.

Board meetings are cablecast live on government access Cable-TV Channel 31, with repeats shown the following week at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (morning session only) and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (afternoon session only), and the following Monday at 10:30 a.m. Carryover meetings will be repeated the following Monday at 7:00 p.m. If a live carryover meeting conflicts with any of the scheduled repeats, the tape will air immediately following the live meeting.
