C.M. Recommendation: Approve a plaque in memory of Marjorie H. Nyhus at Rock Spring Park, 5000 Little Falls Road.

C.M. Recommendation: Ratify the County Manager's submission of a grant application for funds over three years from the U.S. Department of Education in competitive grant funds and contingent upon approval appropriate funds and 1.1 FTEs from Federal revenue to the Department of Libraries.

  1. Ordinance to Amend Chapter 14.2 (Motor Vehicles) of the Arlington County Code.

C.M. Recommendation: Adopt the proposed amendments to Chapter 14.2 of the Arlington County Code to update references to certain sections of the Code of Virginia pursuant to the 1999 session of the Virginia General Assembly, to be effective July 1, 1999.

  1. Request to Advertise the Alcoholic Beverage Ordinance, Chapter 17, Section 17-2, of the Arlington County Code, to provide for the use, consumption or possession of alcoholic beverages in specified Arlington County Parks by permit only.

    C.M. Recommendation: Authorize the advertisement for public hearing on July 10, 1999 of the proposed Ordinance Amendment which provides for the use, consumption of possession of alcoholic beverages in specified Arlington County parks by permit only.

  2. Review and consideration of the proposed rate increase for basic cable service and equipment and installation charges of prime Communications-Potomac, L.L.C., T.A. Cable TV Arlington.

Agendas are usually available on the county's website one week before the meeting, and are published in the Arlington Journal the Monday before a Saturday meeting. Agendas also are provided three days before the meeting on Arlington Information Channel 31.

Board meetings are cablecast live on government access Cable-TV Channel 31, with repeats shown the following week at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday and at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday (morning session only) and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday (afternoon session only), and the following Monday at 10:30 a.m. Carryover meetings will be repeated the following Monday at 7:00 p.m. If a live carryover meeting conflicts with any of the scheduled repeats, the tape will air immediately following the live meeting.
